The energy industry is replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy, and biofuel derived from biomass plays an important part in this transformation. With that, the recycling industry is growing too, where waste is turned into new products to maximize the use of all existing resources. Today, one of our focal points is distributing renewable energy storage technology.
Lachenmeier Monsun has been active in this part of the energy- and recycling industry journey from the very beginning. When some of the first wood pellet factories were built at the beginning of this century, Lachenmeier Monsun supplied the conveyors. Soon after, we started designing conveying plants and biofuel storage mills for power plants. Today, solutions for biofuel storage and handling make out a major part of our business.
With the energy industries vastly developing, and renewable energy being the future, our focus is set on providing solutions that meet societal obligations on a greener standard of operations. These solutions are supplied in the form of renewable energy storage technology and silos for power plants.
Solutions
A lot of companies within the energy industry are met with societal obligations relating to safety, environmental impact, and the limitation of dust - this is also true for biofuel power plants. Our solutions take all these factors into consideration. At Lachenmeier Monsun, our team has extensive experience and knowledge in designing the solutions needed in biofuel power plant storage, minimizing societal hazards like fire, explosions, and fine particle intake.

ØRSTED AVEDØRE
Scope of Delivery: Increase storage capacity
Equipment Used: Storage
DONG Energy Avedøre in Copenhagen has
built a new round silo in concrete being able
to store 100.000 m3of wood pellets. The new
silo has extendedthe existing storage capacity
by 4-5times. The silo receives wood pellets
fromtheir internal port where ships andbarges
are unloaded. The wood pellets areconveyed
from the new silo to the boilerhouse.

ØRSTED STUDSTRUP
Scope of Delivery: Intake system and storage
Equipment Used: Intake, Storage
Year: 2011
Lachenmeier Monsun together with partners:
Persolit A/S and Danpro Steel Construction A/S
provided the solution for the transport of wood
pellets from ship to storage silo with a capacity
of 1.000 t/h. The total silo capacity is 100.000
m3. Transportation of bulk material from the
storage silo to the day silo has a capacity of
300 t/h. The power plant in Studstrup uses
wood pellets for energy generation as an
alternative to coal.

AVA - LISBJERG
Scope of Delivery: Project Management
Equipment Used: Conveying, Cleaning, Aspiration
Year: 2016/2017
Lachenmeier Monsun was asked to provide
a solution for the transport of wood chips as
the AVA is expanding their main incineration
of waste to include biomass – primarily straw.
To provide an economic and reliable operation,
AVA has chosen a backup solution of wood
chips in case of problems with supply of straw.
The power plant can deliver up to 50% wood
chips.
